How Martial Arts Helped Me

In two of my most recent posts "how I gained self control" and "why discipline is important to me," I briefly mentioned mixed martial arts being a key element in learning those two skills.  Learning how to practice mixed martial arts showed me the importance of discipline and self control.            Practice is meaningful and mindful repetition. Why Discipline Is Important To Me

Discipline is very important because it helps me think about my actions before I make them. I learned discipline through mixed martial arts and from my family. when I was younger I had trouble with impulse control and i didn't know that my actions could have consequences. when I learned this I had better control over my mind and body. I also learned situational awareness from discipline and it became a lot easier to interact with people.

how self control helped me

I n my previous post titled "How I Became Able To Speak" I briefly discussed how self control helped me learn to be social. Self control to me means being able to control my actions before I've made them. By learning self control I was better able to understand myself and others. I learned self control through two sources: my family and through mixed martial arts. Self control helped me understand myself and others. I was taught self control through my family and through learning mixed martial arts. With time and experience I learned how my mind and body works which then helped me learn to control my stress levels better and improve my social skills.
